- CEO Matthias Tillmann and sporting head Frank Baumann joined in 2024 to lead restructuring, while January's signing of striker Edin Dzeko proved decisive. Dzeko contributed six goals and three assists in nine games.
- Head coach Miron Muslic helped the squad rebound from their "worst season ever," Baumann said. The team sat atop the table at the halfway point despite scoring just 22 goals in 17 games.
- Tillmann noted the club's infrastructure remains elite, stating, "We are not a second division club when it comes to fans, to infrastructure." Every home match this season attracted over 60,000 fans.
