The termination of Lufthansa ground staff in Saxony is causing trouble. The Saxon Chamber of Commerce and other signatories are now addressing politics – and Lufthansa.
Saxon economic chambers, scientists and politicians are pushing airline and Merz government Dresden/Leipzig, September 30, 2025. First, because of high charges, Ryanair has said goodbye to the airports in Saxony, but now Lufthansa is also considering restrictions in Dresden and Leipzig. Meanwhile, the Free State is increasingly concerned that this could be the beginning of the end, especially for Dresden Airport.
Saxony is concerned that Lufthansa will cancel further flights to Leipzig/Halle and Dresden. In a letter to the head of the airline, representatives of government, business and science will call for a reversal and describe the consequences of further flight reduction.
