'SAW' - Mike P. Nelson Directing Next Installment in the Film Franchise
James Wan, Jason Blum and Leigh Whannell will produce Saw 11 after Saw X grossed over $125 million worldwide.
- On Thursday, Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster announced that filmmaker Mike P. Nelson will direct the next Saw installment, following his work on Wrong Turn and the 2025 Silent Night, Deadly Night remake.
- This production move follows Blumhouse Atomic Monster's 2025 acquisition of Saw rights from Twisted Pictures, returning the $1 billion franchise to its original architect, James Wan.
- Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson expressed confidence in the filmmaker, stating, 'He has a singular vision for this film,' while Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock wrote the script.
- Nelson called the opportunity to work with Wan a 'dream come true,' praising the script for blending original franchise mystery with 'insane bloody ideas' and a brutal moral compass.
- Before beginning production, Nelson will release his latest horror feature, Beware Boiña, on October 2, while the Saw series remains the longest-running theatrical horror franchise at ten films strong.
