SAVE America Act supporters clamoring for U.S. Senate to pass bill
Senator Mike Lee strongly urged Congress to pass the SAVE America Act immediately, stating it cannot be replaced by any other measure.
He acknowledged that the Senate has a simple majority to pass the bill despite lacking the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.
Lee asserted that continuous debate focused solely on the SAVE America Act could lead to its passage, possibly with minor changes.
The SAVE America Act requires photo ID for federal voting, proof of citizenship for voter registration, in-person registration, and data shows about 24,000 votes were cast by noncitizens in 2020.
