Sara Cox Finally Confirms when Her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show Will Start
The refreshed programme will mix teatime favorites with new breakfast features and high-profile interviews, starting with Tom Hanks as the first guest.
Presenter Sara Cox announced on Monday that her new BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show will launch on July 6, with Hollywood star Tom Hanks joining as her first guest.
Cox takes over the morning slot following the departure of Scott Mills, whom the BBC sacked earlier this year following allegations regarding his personal conduct.
Following her final Teatime show on Friday, June 12, the broadcaster is preparing for a "fresh new format" according to the BBC, bringing listeners her "favourite bits" from the previous program.
During an appearance on Vernon Kay's Radio 2 show on Monday, Cox shared the announcement and expressed being "very, very excited" about the early 6:30 am start time.
The 51-year-old broadcaster, who hosted her Teatime show for seven years, described the new position as a "dream" and plans to include her "favourite bits" from her previous program.
