On Thursday, the Municipal Court in Prague sentenced a 57-year-old employee of the National Audit Office to 16 years in prison for preparing the murder of her ex-husband. The verdict is not final. The woman has denied any guilt from the beginning. Co-defendant Michal Ticháček, whom the verdict says she hired for the murder, pleaded guilty in court. She will spend 12 years behind bars.
The 57-year-old woman denied the charges, claiming that the murder was fabricated by a broker and that he forced her to cooperate with threats. She appealed the verdict on the spot.
