- Rittmeyer swore investigators "repeatedly encouraged me to believe that Mr. Sandusky had molested me" despite his lack of clear memory, describing the original prosecution as "deeply flawed."
- Seeking relief in federal court, Sandusky stated he has "no faith" in local courts after his post-conviction relief petitions were repeatedly denied by the Centre County judiciary.
- Although the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office described the recantation as "highly suspect," Sandusky remains at SCI Laurel Highlands serving a 30-to-60-year sentence for his 2012 child abuse convictions.
