Samsung Officially Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, Flip8, Watch Ultra2 and Watch9
Samsung globally released the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra on Friday, August 7, 2026, offering two distinct foldable designs. These new devices expand the company's lineup, providing options for both portability and professional productivity.
Prioritizing portability, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed for everyday use. Conversely, the thinner Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a larger, nearly square workspace, making it better suited for productivity and intensive multitasking needs.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a 200-megapixel main camera sensor for high-resolution images. In contrast, the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 employs a 50-megapixel camera system to handle varied photography needs for the average user.
Both models share the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 processor for high performance. However, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra includes a 5,000 mAh battery, surpassing the 4,800 mAh capacity found in the standard Galaxy Z Fold8.
Industry analysts monitor potential competition from Apple, with rumors suggesting the Cupertino giant may launch its own foldable device in September. Speculation indicates the company may adopt design proportions similar to these new Samsung handsets.
