Gunfire on Antioch Pike hits, kills one person inside store
Homicide detectives are investigating after a stray bullet pierced a side wall and killed a 55-year-old employee, police said.
On Sunday, September 6, 2026, a 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee, Paris Carlock, was fatally shot inside a Sam's Club on Antioch Pike after a bullet from outside gunfire pierced the store's metal wall.
Investigators believe the gunfire followed an argument that began inside the nearby Lavo Lounge, where security removed involved individuals before the dispute reportedly continued outside shortly after 4 a.m.
Carlock was conducting product inventory in the chip aisle when he was struck in the head; he was then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department have taken over the investigation, though authorities have not yet identified a suspect or announced any arrests regarding the shooting.
Anyone with information regarding the gunfire or vehicles involved is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463, where callers may remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
