Sam Curran to Undergo Groin Surgery, Misses Out on Test Return
England all-rounder Sam Curran will miss the remainder of the summer after undergoing groin surgery, ending his chances of a Test recall this season.
National selector Marcus North identified Curran as a potential replacement for Ben Stokes, calling him a "player of interest for us," despite managing several "niggles" throughout a demanding summer.
Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks also underwent surgery to remove his appendix, ruling him out of the County Championship clash against Nottinghamshire, though he could return for the Sri Lanka series.
Medical staff will monitor his recovery ahead of the T20I series against Sri Lanka beginning on September 15, with the team expecting him ready for future international competition.
North maintains high expectations for Curran as a future all-rounder, and staff will work with him in the coming weeks to ensure his eventual return to international competition.
