Sabres F Sam Carrick (Arm) Could Practice on Tuesday
Carrick’s return gives Buffalo a boost after he was ruled out with a left arm injury and won 82 of 143 faceoffs for the Sabres.
On Tuesday, Buffalo Sabres forward Sam Carrick resumed practicing, positioning himself to potentially return for the Eastern Conference second-round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens.
Carrick suffered a left arm injury during a fight with New York Islanders captain Anders Lee on March 31, causing him to miss the final seven regular-season games and the first-round series against Boston.
The Sabres, who entered Tuesday ranked last among 16 playoff teams in winning 43.8% of their faceoffs, acquired Carrick from the New York Rangers on March 5 to bolster depth.
Coach Lindy Ruff noted that Carrick is "a little bit ahead of schedule," adding that once cleared to practice, players are typically "within days of playing."
With Game 1 scheduled for Wednesday night at KeyBank Center, Carrick remains part of the "black ace" squad while aiming to rejoin the lineup soon.
