S&P/TSX composite edges lower on energy weakness, U.S. stock markets also negative
Canada’s benchmark index fell 90.80 points as energy stocks weakened and U.S. markets slipped after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates.
On Wednesday, the TSX gained more than 150 points in late-morning trading, while New York stock markets were mixed as investors assessed the latest economic landscape.
Strength in the technology and base metal sectors helped the TSX, while the Federal Reserve interest rate hike influenced the broader market.

Reflecting a slight decline, the CADUSD traded for 71.75 cents US, down from 71.85 cents US on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
