Gold Mining Stocks Lift S&P/TSX Composite, U.S. Markets Also Rise

Mining and technology gains lifted the TSX more than 350 points as U.S. indexes also advanced, with gold higher and oil lower.

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index rose more than one per cent Thursday on gains in the mining sector, while U.S. markets also gained ground. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 382.99 points at 35,874.26.
