NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says that Lithuania is not only fulfilling its commitments, but also setting high defense financing standards for the entire Alliance.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says that Lithuania is setting an example for other Alliance countries by allocating 5.38 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) to defense this year and actively contributing to the defense of NATO and Ukraine.
"Lithuania is setting an example in the field of defense investment. This year it is expected to reach 5.38 percent of GDP for basic defense needs. Lithuania is not only fulfilling its obligations, but also setting standards," said M. Rutte in Brussels on Tuesday after a meeting with Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius.
