Russian drone hits central Kyiv killing a child, injuring at least seven people, Ukrainian officials say
On Friday, a Russian drone struck a 16-storey residential building in Kyiv's Pechersk district, killing a 14-year-old boy and injuring at least seven others in Ukraine.
Russia has launched near-constant barrages of high-flying drones in recent weeks that officials say are harder to intercept. The country denies deliberately targeting civilians during its invasion.
Emergency services reported that separate overnight attacks caused fires in non-residential buildings in two city districts. One person was also injured in the capital, according to officials.
Separately, Odesa region governor Oleh Kiper said one person was killed and another injured in a series of "massive" Russian strikes on a residential area and logistics premises.
The Russian defence ministry said on Friday its forces carried out overnight drone strikes on Ukrainian defence industry facilities, logistics centres, and vessels. Russia maintains it does not target civilians.
