Alexander Gigunov intends to re-apply the International Ski and Snowboard Federation for neutral status, as reported by the president of the Russian ski and snowboard Federation, Dmitry Swiszchev.
The International Ski Federation (Fis) has set the rules under which athletes from Russia and Belarus can compete in the 2026/27 season. This does not mean the return of national teams from the aforementioned countries; athletes can compete exclusively as individuals and only after obtaining approval from Fis to compete with the status of individual neutral athletes.
