- This strike follows an intensified aerial campaign, with Russia launching about 1,650 guided aerial bombs and at least 38 missiles at Ukraine last week, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
- Governor Oleh Hryhorov reported that about 40 pupils sheltered when the school was hit, while teachers evacuated 100 people in time, preventing a higher casualty toll.
- Condemning the strikes, Zelensky urged Western allies to apply "real pressure" on Moscow, saying "We expect that the response steps to these strikes will come and will not be limited to words only."
- Zelensky also called on G20 countries to use their influence over Moscow to help end the aggression, as diplomatic efforts have struggled to produce tangible breakthroughs or a clear path to peace.
