Kremlin Foreign Policy Chief Ushakov stated that the US has not presented Russia with the points agreed upon with Europe regarding Ukraine during their negotiations. Ushakov reiterated that the Donbas region belongs to Russia.
According to the Kremlin, the US peace plan has changed significantly as a result of negotiations between Washington and Kiev, and the amendments could further complicate the chances of a negotiated settlement. Yuri Ushakov, a foreign policy adviser to the Russian president, told reporters: Moscow has not yet seen the updated US proposal, but it is possible that many of its elements will not be compatible with Russia's interests.
"We have not seen the corrected version of American plans, so we might not like what they present," he warned during a press conference at which he said that Moscow "must make sure that Americans reach an agreement with Europeans and Ukrainians."
