Running back Zander Horvath hitting highs for streaking B.C. Lions
Horvath has 355 rushing yards and six touchdowns over the Lions' three-game win streak, helping them climb back into playoff contention.
On Sunday, the BC Lions host the Saskatchewan Roughriders while riding a three-game win streak powered by running back Zander Horvath, who has amassed 355 rushing yards and six touchdowns during the recent stretch.
The 230-pound Purdue product signed with the Lions as a free agent in January 2025 after playing 15 regular-season NFL games for the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Miami Dolphins.
Horvath ranks sixth in the CFL with 418 rushing yards this season despite starting only three games, and earned CFL Player of the Week honours twice this month.
Saskatchewan head coach Corey Mace called Horvath "a behemoth of a human being," while Lions head coach Buck Pierce credited his rise to a starting role to hard work and physical preparation.
B.C. leads the CFL in rushing offence, averaging 116.9 yards per game, as the Lions aim to extend their win streak against the Riders on Sunday.
