In order to close its 2027 budget, the government is considering deindexing pensions from inflation in order to save money, a measure that the Grand Gueules approve, which even wants the executive to go even further.

Retirement pensions may not be adjusted for inflation in 2027. The government is studying a measure that would preserve small pensions, but could reduce the purchasing power of pensioners receiving the highest amounts.
The Ministry of Labour makes the first calculations for indexing pensions and wages from January of next year. In the case of pensions, estimates indicate a possible increase of about 6-8%. The percentage would be lower than the inflation faced by pensioners in recent years, when they have received no increase. The final value of indexing has not yet been established, according to the PLUS Reality.
Minister of Social Security and Labor Inga Ruginienė says that a plan is being prepared for how pensions will be additionally indexed over the next two years.
