At a time when Switzerland’s vegetation is suffering from extreme heat and drought, the government intends to cut – from 2027 – the funding allocated to helping forests adapt to climate change.
The Federation scraps the funds for a future-oriented forest, the army dispenses with Ukrainian expertise and the SRG will send back to FM from autumn.
The Swiss forest is being subjected to severe heat and drought tests. Despite this situation, the Federal Council is reducing funding for reforestation adapted to climate change. The steering committee of the Cantonal Conference for Wildlife, Forest and Landscape denounces this decision.
Heat and drought are increasing in the Swiss forests. Nevertheless, from 2027 on, the federal government will remove the funds for climate-adapted forest conversion.
