The Romanian army has today announced the acquisition of 231 Manpad Mistral and 934 Mistral missiles from France. The acquisition is part of the SAFE European Defence Industry Investment Plan. Designed for anti-aircraft protection at high altitudes, these weapons are mainly used for the protection of troops, strategic targets and military vehicles against helicopters, small or drones.
