Robinhood Plans 10x Crypto Perps for U.S. Traders
The brokerage will offer contracts on eight crypto assets with no expiration, real-time liquidation alerts and 0.01% trading fees through 2026.
- Robinhood announced it will launch U.S. crypto perpetual futures with leverage of up to 10x for Bitcoin and Ether, while other assets cap at 3x. These contracts have no expiration dates and will arrive in the coming months.
- CEO Vlad Tenev described the product as "America's first true perps," with profit and loss settling every 15 minutes. U.S. regulators established a clearer path for these derivatives earlier this year, enabling the expansion.
- Through its $200 million Bitstamp acquisition, Robinhood Derivatives will offer the contracts as a CFTC-registered merchant. Trading will incur fees of 0.01% per trade through the end of 2026.
- Alongside crypto derivatives, Robinhood is extending its 24 Hour Market to weekend sessions via Bruce ATS. Chief Brokerage Officer Steve Quirk said, "Breaking news doesn't wait for an opening bell."
- The firm is also integrating Robinhood Agents, which currently processes nearly 30 million daily interactions, allowing eligible users to automate market research and strategy execution. This positions Robinhood as a leader in AI-powered trading infrastructure.
