Robin Raikkonen joins Red Bull junior team
Red Bull Racing announced on Wednesday the signing of 11-year-old Robin Raikkonen to the Red Bull Junior Team, with the young driver set to begin in 2027.
Currently competing in professional karting, Robin has achieved success in Rotax and WSK championships, establishing himself as a promising talent in his age group.
Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies said, "Robin has already demonstrated exceptional ability in karting," and committed to developing his potential without unnecessary pressure.
Kimi Raikkonen expressed enthusiasm about the selection, noting that Red Bull offers a "compelling and comprehensive programme" to nurture Robin's progress over the coming years.
The Red Bull Junior Team has developed successful drivers including Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, positioning Robin within a programme with years of proven motorsport development success.
On Wednesday, September 9th, the Formula 1 team Red Bull announced the recruitment of Robin Räikkönen, just 11 years old. The son of the 2007 world champion, in his third karting season, joined the Red Bull Academy that runs the youth.
Robin Räikkönen takes the next step on the way up. The only eleven-year-old son of former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen is accepted into the junior team of Red Bull Racing.
