The EU expects us to compensate for the astronomical prices of fuel at the expense of pensions, healthcare or education, said the Slovak Prime Minister.
BRATISLAVA. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico calls in a video posted on Tuesday on X the "immediate convening of an EU special summit" in order to announce the fight against "astronomic oil and gasoline prices".
According to the Prime Minister, the government's goal is to keep fuel prices in the cheaper half of the EU.
The European Union is failing to control rising fuel prices and should convene an emergency summit on the issue. This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. According to him, the EU is leaving member states to deal with the severe consequences of the oil crisis on their own.
