ROBERT EARL KEEN NAMED 2026 TEXAN OF THE YEAR

On Jan. 27, 2026, Robert Earl Keen was named the 2026 Texan of the Year by the Texas Legislative Conference and will be celebrated on March 26, 2026 at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center.
In the aftermath of the July 2025 flooding, Robert Earl Keen organized REK and Friends: Applause for the Cause, reflecting his artistic legacy and commitment to serve Texans in need.
The benefit concert united more than 40 artists and livestreamed globally on Amazon, YouTube, DirecTV, Veeps and Roku, raising more than $3.2 million for Texas relief.
