Nelly Korda Crushes Another LPGA Field and Wins by 4 Shots in Mexico
Korda finished at 17-under 271, breaking the event’s 72-hole record by 5 strokes and earning her third LPGA win of the year.
On Sunday, Top-ranked Nelly Korda won the Riviera Maya Open, capturing her 18th career LPGA triumph with a four-stroke victory at Camaleon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Korda's victory follows her third major title last week, matching the 2001 start of Swedish legend Annika Sorenstam with her sixth top-two finish in as many events this season.
The American fired a 17-under 271 total to secure the win; Thailand's Arpichaya Yubol finished second on 275, with China's Liu Yu third on 276 and American Brianna Do fourth on 278.
On the final hole, Korda scrambled to make bogey after a lost ball. "On the last hole I was humbled by golf," Korda said, expressing gratitude for her team's support.
Korda shattered the 72-hole event record of 12-under during her performance. She previously finished second at the LPGA Founders Cup, Ford Championship, and last month's Aramco Championship.
