Ridesharing giant Uber arrives in Sudbury, Timmins, North Bay in year-long pilot linked to revived Northlander

Fourteen years after it arrived in Toronto, Ont., Uber has officially driven into the north, launching its ridesharing service in three northeastern Ontario cities and dozens of other communities between Gravenhurst and Cochrane. The province says this is part of an effort to "connect riders to the Northlander," a train service that is being brought back after being cancelled in 2012.
