Revanth Reddy Orders Probe Into KCR Farmhouse Land in Siddipet
Revanth Reddy said a fact-finding team will examine 388 acres of assignment land and other holdings tied to the BRS chief’s family.
- On Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family amassed 439.3 acres of land across nine districts, 24 mandals and 31 villages.
- Reddy claimed these assets were acquired during and after the Telangana statehood agitation, when the BRS party came to power in 2014, benefiting one family immensely.
- The Chief Minister alleged the Erravelli farm house where KCR stayed spans over 700 acres, with 388 acres being assignment land in violation of agricultural ceiling acts permitting only 50 acres of dry land.
- In response, the government decided to distribute the disputed land among 800 Dalit families, some of whom recently beat drums near the farm house as a counter to BRS actions.
- Reddy vowed to initiate action against officials found guilty of negligence and indicated further revelations concerning assets held by alleged "benamis" will emerge as investigations proceed.
