The European Union plans to postpone until December 16 legislative proposals that would expand a carbon cap and ease a ban on the sale of new combustion engine cars planned for 2035, according to a draft European Commission agenda seen by Reuters. The original plan was to publish the proposals as early as this Wednesday.
A decision regarding the EU's so-called combustion engine ban, which aims for zero CO2 emissions from new cars starting in 2035, is still pending. The European Commission originally planned to comment on the matter on December 10th, but according to Automobilwoche, the schedule has been postponed, and the decision is now expected on December 17th.
