Two Men Killed After Falling Into Industrial Slurry Tank in Tragic Farm Incident
Emergency crews rescued the men, but both were pronounced dead as the Health and Safety Executive joined Cheshire Police’s investigation.
On Wednesday, August 26, two men died following an industrial accident at a farm on Cann Lane in Aston by Budworth. Cheshire Police were alerted at 12.20pm after two individuals fell into an industrial silage tank.
Police, fire, and the North West Ambulance Service attended the farm. The men, aged 72 and 42, were rescued from the container but were pronounced dead at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.
Next of kin have been informed regarding the incident. Cheshire Constabulary has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the two men's deaths.
The HSE visited the farm on Wednesday and is liaising with Cheshire Constabulary to investigate the accident. The workplace safety regulator's involvement signals a formal inquiry into workplace procedures.
Cann Lane was closed while emergency services managed the scene. Authorities continue their investigation, with further updates expected as the inquiry progresses.
