Remembering Wally Cook: Second World War veteran, respected politician and beloved Carleton Place figure

Just four days before his 99th birthday, Wally Cook, the last surviving Second World War veteran from Carleton Place, who also served as a councillor and contributed significantly to the community, died on Sept. 18 at the Almonte General Hospital. Cook will be interred at the First Presbyterian Cemetery located in Collingwood.
