First Trapped Ekapa Miner's Body Retrieved

Rescue teams have recovered the body of the first miner from the five workers who were trapped underground at the Ekapa Minerals mine in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The miners have been trapped approximately 890 metres below ground since a mud rush occurred at the mine on 17 February 2026.
