The Roswell Fire Department, the American Red Cross and volunteers installed 101 free smoke alarms in 34 homes in the Liberty Square area Sept. 19 as part of the Red Cross “Sound the Alarm” campaign. Officials chose the neighborhood using a community risk assessment and urged residents to test alarms monthly, keep working alarms on every level of the home and practice a fire escape plan twice a year.
