Record number of 18-year-olds accepted onto UK degree courses as students across country find out A-level results
Universities UK said 41% of applicants had applied by June as ministers face pressure over the value of higher education.
On Thursday, students across Lincolnshire received their A-level results, marking a major milestone for thousands of young people. These grades determine placements for university, college courses, or apprenticeships.
Thousands of students are receiving a mixture of A-level, T-level, BTEC, and Vocational Related Qualification results today. Initial reports show full pass rates across post-16 education providers, including colleges and school sixth forms.
Coun Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children's Services, said, "This is an exciting time for students across the county, and I'm looking forward to hearing about their successes." County Coun Matthew Salter added congratulations to all Lancashire students.
Support services like Talkzone and the Youth Futures Team offer confidential advice to students disappointed with their grades. Talkzone advisors are available from 2pm to 10pm daily, including weekends and Bank Holidays, via phone, email, text, or webtalk.
GCSE results will be released next Thursday, August 20, as the county prepares for further outcomes. Students seeking careers advice can visit nationalcareers.service.gov.uk or call the helpline on 0800 100 900.
