Germany just built the world's tallest wind turbine — 365-meter tower will generate 3.8 megawatts from high-altitude winds
The world's tallest wind turbine has been built in GermanyIt's designed to catch higher, stronger, more consistent windsAn 'inside out' construction process was deployed to build upThere's a new milestone to report in the field of wind energy engineering: German company Gicon just completed construction on the tallest wind turbine in history, standing 365 meters (1,198 feet) tall near the town of Schipkau in Brandenburg.According to the official…
The world's tallest wind farm has been built just 60 kilometers from the Czech border. The turbine on a mast near the German town of Schipkau is set 300 meters above the ground, with the rotor blades reaching 65 meters higher, making it the second tallest structure in Germany, after the Berlin TV Tower. Thanks to the more stable and stronger winds, it is estimated that a single turbine can produce 18 GWh per year, which could cover the consumpti…
World’s tallest wind turbine reaches nearly 1,200 feet in Germany
A wind turbine standing nearly 1,200 feet tall has reached its full height in eastern Germany, creating a new approach to capturing wind energy at elevations where winds are stronger and more consistent. Developed by German engineering company GICON for the Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation, or SPRIND, the pilot turbine in Schipkau is designed to test whether going dramatically higher can produce substantially more electricity from the s…
