Chrysler Recalls 20,000 Jeep, Dodge Models over Faulty Display Panels
The software fix will be free, and NHTSA says 11,743 Jeep Wagoneers and 8,528 Dodge Charger EVs are included.
Stellantis is recalling 20,271 Jeep Wagoneer and Dodge Charger EVs over faulty instrument panels that fail to display critical safety information like gear selection and warning lights, increasing crash risk.
FCA says a "software error" causes the instrument panel displays to fail, rendering vehicles non-compliant with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard and triggering the recall.
The recall includes 11,743 Jeep Wagoneers and 8,528 Dodge Charger EVs; Stellantis identified the build issue on April 1 affecting dashboard-mounted instrument clusters behind the steering wheel.
Starting yesterday, vehicle owners could search Vehicle Identification Numbers on The NHTSA website to check if their vehicles are affected, while Dealers will perform the software update at no cost.
Notification letters will be mailed to owners on May 21, but in the meantime owners can contact FCA at 1-800-853-1403 for assistance with the recall process.
