Rangers put DH Joc Pederson on IL, move pitcher Quantrill to 60-day list and end his season

- Pederson sustained the injury after being struck by a pitch against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix on Sept. 12, sidelining the team's primary leadoff hitter. He has hit.235 with 26 homers and 53 RBIs in 136 games this season.
- Quantrill was initially placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday after exiting his start against Toronto following only 12 pitches. He will not be available for the playoffs after the transfer to the 60-day injured list.
- Retroactive to Sept. 19, Pederson's move allows him to remain eligible for the playoffs next week if the Rangers make the postseason. Texas also activated infielder/outfielder Michael Helman from the 60-day injured list and right-handed reliever Peyton Gray.
- Left-Hander Adam Macko was optioned to the rookie-level Rangers in Arizona to accommodate the roster adjustments as Texas prepares for the postseason stretch.
