Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh: The election process for ten Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh has begun. The Samajwadi Party is certain to win two seats. The party has already set its sights on winning the third seat.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) may field candidates for three Rajya Sabha seats. Winning one seat will require 37 MLAs. The Samajwadi Party currently has 100 MLAs, including one in jail. Consequently, two of its candidates are certain to be elected to the Rajya Sabha. For the third candidate, it will need at least 12 more MLAs.
