'We Didn't Fall for Nuclear Bluff': Rajnath Singh Slams Pakistan, Explains Why Op Sindoor Was Halted
Singh said India precisely targeted the attackers and remained ready for a prolonged conflict, while defence exports rose 62.66% last year.
On Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India voluntarily halted Operation Sindoor on its own terms, emphasizing the country remained fully prepared to sustain a prolonged conflict if necessary.
Launched nearly a year ago following the Pahalgam terror attack, the operation demonstrated the jointness of the Indian Defence Forces, with the Army, Navy, and Air Force working under one integrated plan.
Lessons from the operation prompted calibrated procurements, including almost 30,000 crores in contracts for drones, loitering munitions, and mobile radars to ensure sufficient stockpiles and air defence capability.
Defence exports surged to around 39,000 crore in 2025-26, marking a 62.66 per cent increase over the previous year as several nations expressed interest in procuring Indian defence equipment.
India is exploring partnerships for sixth-generation fighter aircraft and developing hypersonic glide missiles, with Singh urging vigilance as technological weaponization challenges the established international order.
