After the first 15 minutes of play the Louisiana Women’s Basketball team had Marshall within its grasp, but a quiet stretch caused the game to slip away and the host-Thundering Herd pulled away for a 95-54 win on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Cam Henderson Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Marshall men's basketball: Bench powers Herd to road win at Arkansas State
The next man up was significant as ever for Marshall in a 70-61 win over Arkansas State on Saturday in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Herd (14-8, 6-4 SBC) amassed 46 points from its bench, led by a season-high 23 points from Wilson Dubinsky, to overcome early foul struggles and roll late. Marshall led for over 30 minutes. Shamarrie Hugie (17) and Noah Otshudi (12) joined in double figures.

HUNTINGTON -- Take away all of Marshall's two-point baskets Saturday and the Thundering Herd would have won by nine points. Marshall (18-6 overall, 9-3 Sun Belt Conference) pounded Louisiana 95-54 in women's college basketball at Cam Henderson Center. The Herd took the lead 9-8 on a Meredith Maier 3-pointer with 6:50 left in the first quarter and never was seriously challenged after that.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women's Basketball had no second half letup in its 95-54 victory over Louisiana Saturday afternoon at the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd held the Ragin' Cajuns without a field goal in the 3rd quarter en route to its largest conference win of the season, improving to 18-6 overall and 9-3 in SBC play.
