This is not the first time that the CSK franchise has been accused of match-fixing and spot-fixing. CSK was embroiled in the 2013 spot-fixing scandal. The Supreme Court-appointed committee had banned the CSK team from the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons for two years after the then franchise owner Gurunath Meiyappan was accused of being involved in a betting scam. Now, CSK has once again been implicated in match-fixing allegations.
