Quantum Computing Inc. Completes Acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor, Inc.
The $110 million acquisition will enhance Quantum Computing Inc.'s photonics signal chain capabilities and support a shift to scalable manufacturing, the company said.
- In an all-cash deal valued at $110 million, QCi announced from Hoboken, N.J., that it completed the acquisition of Luminar Semiconductor, making it a wholly owned subsidiary, as Yuping Huang said, `This acquisition allows us to move forward with a combination that is highly strategic for QCi`.
- Leveraging LSI's engineering team and patent portfolio, QCi stated the acquisition advances its move toward scalable manufacturing and a vertically integrated photonics platform.
- By integrating TFLN with LSI's lasers, detectors and advanced packaging, QCi now holds architecture aimed at delivering chip-scale quantum hardware at room temperature.
- The deal is expected to add annual revenue and position QCi as a vertically integrated photonics leader with a fully domestic manufacturing platform serving aerospace, defense and industrial customers.
- The company cautioned that the release contains forward-looking statements warning that risks like integration and operating costs could prevent anticipated benefits from materializing.
