Russia’s antiwar Yabloko party was barred from seven of eight regional races. In the one where it made the ballot, it’s set to enter the regional legislature.
With 96.86% of precinct tallies counted, Yabloko is on track to win seats in the Novgorod regional legislature’s eighth convocation, according to data from Russia’s Central Election Commission.
Yabloko is the only officially registered Russian party that openly opposes the war with Ukraine, and by excluding it, opponents of the current political and economic path and of the war with Ukraine lose the opportunity to express their position.
