- According to the FIR, Bharatiya Janata Party members allegedly conducted a "shuddikaran yagna" on August 11 at the venue, with the complainant alleging the ritual was intended to convey that Kharge's presence rendered the ground "impure."
- T. Ramappa, a former member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, filed the complaint on August 31, claiming the ritual was a "deliberate" and "deeply insulting" act against the Scheduled Caste community.
- Vidhana Soudha police registered charges under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, Section 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Protection of Civil Rights Act.
- Uttarakhand State BJP President Sri Mahendra Bhatt reportedly defended the ritual in public statements, while the Zero FIR will transfer to Haldwani authorities for further investigation.
