Pukka Pies supplier enters liquidation after 40 years
Timothy Frank Corfield of Griffin & King was appointed liquidator as the distributor said Pukka Pies supplies will continue through other wholesalers.
West Midlands food distributor G.M. Jones and Sons entered liquidation on Thursday, April 23, 2026, after nearly 40 years of operation, with Timothy Frank Corfield of Griffin and King appointed as liquidator.
Despite reporting consistent year-on-year sales growth, the Staffordshire-based firm collapsed after serving as a key supplier for the fast-food industry across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, and Shropshire regions.
Pukka Pies CEO Isaac Fisher reassured customers that "there is no impact on the availability of Pukka products," noting the brand transitioned wholesale customers to alternative suppliers.
The company's closure follows a difficult start to 2026 for the UK retail and food sectors, with numerous businesses entering administration, including EcoJet Airlines and Chase Distillery Limited.
Formal liquidation involves disposing of firm assets to raise funds for settling debts owed to creditors and shareholders, resolving the business's final financial obligations following cessation of operations.
