Former Bake Off Judge Dame Prue Leith Rushed to Hospital After Health Scare
Leith said doctors ruled out a stroke after a six-hour A&E wait and a precautionary CT scan, and she praised NHS staff for their care.
Dame Prue Leith, 86, was recently hospitalized in Yorkshire after a severe migraine attack left her with blurred vision and slurred speech, prompting fears of a stroke.
Her husband, John Playfair, contacted medical professionals after Leith struggled to communicate, describing an "incomprehensible jumble of disconnected words" that alarmed him.
Taken to Harrogate Hospital as a precaution, Leith underwent a CT scan after waiting 10 hours at A&E before being discharged in the early morning.
Reflecting on her care, Leith praised NHS staff as "cheerful, sympathetic, polite, helpful and professional," noting patients receive individual concern despite potential wait times.
Leith recently stepped down from The Great British Bake Off, with Nigella Lawson set to replace her when the new series airs later this year.
