Guayaquil (Ecuador), 28 Sep (EFE).- The Attorney General of Ecuador, Leonardo Alarcón, announced this Monday that he refrains from accusing former Minister of Energy Antonio Goncalves of embezzlement of public funds, one of the 31 defendants in this case in which contracts for electricity generation signed during the energy crisis of 2024 are investigated.
The former Energy Minister is out of the process for alleged embezzlement. The case will continue against the other 30 defendants.

The Prosecutor’s Office decided not to charge Antonio Gonçalves with the Progen case.
