Russia has returned to using American processors in its Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles after domestically produced substitutes apparently failed to meet requirements, Ukraine’s presidential sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk told Militarnyi on September 8.

Russia continues to use foreign electronic components in complex weapons systems, including American processors in Kinzhal missiles, stated Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
Russia tried to replace American processors in the on-board computers of the Aeroballistic missiles of the Dagger with its own chips, but because of the unsuccessful tests, it was forced to return to foreign electronics.
According to Vladislav Vlasyuk, head of sanctions policy in the Ukrainian presidency, in 2023 Moscow replaced the processors of the American company "Texas Instruments" with Russian chips. However, the analysis of the missile shot down in May revealed the return of American processors, which is a sign that the Russian equivalents did not give the expected results, Vlasyuk said.
Russia is reusing American processors in its Kinzhal hypersonic missiles after trying to replace them with Russian components.
