- Abuja has witnessed a rise in violent abductions, particularly in outlying communities like Bwari, where difficult terrain and porous borders with Kaduna and Niger states provide safe havens for criminal groups.
- Officers recovered four motorcycles, 31 pieces of 500mg tramadol tablets, N320,000 cash, five phones, and a POS machine from the camp, where suspect Hauwa Shafiu served as logistics supplier and cook.
- Police commissioner Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi confirmed that Shafiu, who was pregnant at arrest, delivered a healthy baby while in custody and is receiving medical care alongside the newborn.
- Investigations into the wider criminal network continue as authorities work to dismantle the structure, with the four suspects set to face court proceedings upon conclusion of the ongoing police inquiry.
